LifeStyle Management or Counseling supports the process of lifestyle change through a education and a variety of holistic services While psychotherapists, dietitians, physicians, chiropractors, exercise and other specialists are trained to focus on a particular component of lifestyle, a LifeStyle Counselor provides guidance across a variety of lifestyle domains. The multi-disciplinary approach of LifeStyle Counseling I utilize is primarily based on science and art of yoga (including movement, breathing, meditation) and Directional Healing (TM) in addition to chakra balancing and intuitive dialogue. I have found that this integrative comprehensive approach supports the patient/client in honoring their life where it is currently, recognizing what "needs" to change, integrating those changes, then stabilizing this higher level of functioning to experience their wholeness and happiness and be open to future growth. There is no destination, only the willingness to embrace the journey.
LifeStyle Counselors are the health care professionals of choice for individuals who are serious about lifestyle change, ready to take responsibility for their life and the changes they decide they need to make to move towards a higher level of functioning in their overall lifestyle. As a LifeStyle Counselor I work with patients/clients in a nonjudgmental and empathic way to help the them succeed in lifestyle change, reduce the risk of preventable diseases, and improve overall quality of life. They are well prepared to assist their patients/clients modify attitudes, cognitions, emotions, goals, and behaviors. When needed patients/clients are referred to specialized health professionals. This multi-disciplinary approach to lifestyle change coupled with a referral network of specialized health care professionals is often considered the newest generation of distinguished health care professionals.
