To constantly impart
the knowledge of the Self.

The
Yoga Shala Columbia and MindBody Health offer holistic
lifestyle management programs that honor the ancient
teachings of Yoga as applied to modern life. Inspired
by the teachings of masters from many wisdom and
spiritual traditions the emphasis in all programs is on
bringing forth the innate intelligence that created and
dwells within each individual as the human self
awakens to the spiritual Self.
The
Yoga Shala Columbia was established in 2003 to focus on
teaching the system of yoga. MindBody Health (MBH) is a
holistic education organization founded in 1995. MBH
offers organizational consulting services and individual
holistic education. Both organizations are directed by
Diane Barnes, M.Ed., RYT-500.

Yoga
Shala classes include awakening and honoring the body
through movement and postures, attuning to the wisdom of
breath, developing the witness consciousness that shines
in the eternal Now and brings forth an experience of the
inner teacher. Conscious resting further heals body and
mind as the power and presence of Peace is experienced
allowing the spiritual nature more deeply to infuse the
human nature.
This
gentle, yet strong and powerful practice is kind to the
body, brings calmness to mind and emotions, and allows
the witness consciousness to emerge as the knower and
experiencer of life. Each individual's uniqueness is
encouraged and celebrated as right conditions are
cultivated to bring forth the true nature as joy and
happiness.
Shala
is a Sanskrit word meaning "school". School is used in
the context of a source of knowledge. We are humans
attending the school of life. At Yoga Shala Columbia
the emphasis is on yoking with the inner teacher through
studying teachings from spiritual traditions that
understand and honor the healing of the human nature
through awakening of Divine nature.
